EYEVAN is a Japanese eyewear brand and purely Japanese-made eyewear. It was jointly established in 1972 by Kensuke Ishizu, who led VAN jacket Inc. (a men's clothing company) and Tetsuji Yamamoto, a founder of Optec Japan Corporation (an eyewear company). It has provided eyewear, which used to be only a tool of vision correction, with a new concept "Eyewear for dressing as a fashion item". Thus, it became a world leading brand loved by Hollywood celebrities in the 1980's. "7285" comes from the golden age from year 1972 when EYEVAN established to the year 1985 when it made a debut all over the world.
